GARMIN OFFERS GMX 200 MULTIFUNCTION DISPLAY

Garmin has redesigned and modernized the MX20 display that joined the Garmin
line of products when Garmin acquired UPS Aviation Technologies in 2003.
Called the GMX 200, it features a 6.5-inch diagonal screen, one-half inch
larger than the MX20's screen. It also has new back-lighting technology that
improves the screen's color contrast in all lighting conditions. A rotary
knob with a push button has been added, in addition to those found on the
MX20, to make it easier to use. An SD card slot has been added to the face
of the unit. It comes in three models: standard, traffic, and radar/traffic.
The standard model is priced at USD8,995. The traffic and radar/traffic models
will be available this summer, but prices have not been announced. The unit
can display XM WX satellite weather, or the radar/traffic model can be used
to link to Garmin's GWX 68 color digital weather radar.
