PIPER SERVICE BULLETIN AFFECTS RETRACTABLE-GEAR AIRCRAFT
The New Piper Aircraft has issued a service bulletin for the repetitive
inspection of the wing rib assembly in the wheel well area to detect
the presence of cracking. The bulletin, issued earlier this month,
affects about 14,000 aircraft, including several retractable-gear Piper
models like the Arrow, Turbo Arrow, Lance, Turbo Lance, Saratoga, Turbo
Saratoga, Seneca, and Seminole. If cracks are detected and need repair,
the kits are estimated to cost USD300 per side, with labor estimated at
10 to 12 hours per side.
